Golden Hills Gran Fondo
Enjoy a fun-filled family event that celebrates the charm and beauty of the golden California foothills. The Golden Hills Gran Fondo features three routes at different cycling levels on the rural roads of the Sierra Nevada foothills, starting and ending in historic Knights Ferry.
The Golden Hills Gran Fondo will have a total of three timed sections. The Gran Fondo (century) riders will go through all three sections. The Medio Fondo (metric) riders will go through two of the timed sections. The Piccolo Fondo (family or 23 mile) riders will go through one of the timed sections. The timed sections are about four miles in length.
The entire ride is not timed, only the marked sections, so you can enjoy the rest stops. October is the perfect season for a Gran Fondo on these popular cycling roads of Stanislaus County.
This bicycle Gran Fondo is a fundraising event supporting the Second Harvest Food Bank’s Food 4 Thought program. We also support many other local projects, including bicycle safety, bicycle advocacy, helmets for kids, ride leader training, and Share-The-Road-Signs.
Descriptive route maps will be available at the start/finish. Routes will be well-marked. Radio-dispatched support provided by the Stanislaus Amateur Radio Association. Additionally, all participants will enjoy: Continental Breakfast, well-supplied Rest Stops, Bicycle mechanic will be on duty in Knights Ferry at the start. And enjoy the post-ride festivities.
