Ride Information

The award-winning bicycle event series Farm to Fork Fondo will include a stop in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. 500 cyclists from throughout the country are expected to attend Farm to Fork Fondo – Berkshires on September 23 and 24, 2017 at Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA.

“With hundreds of farms, beautiful pastoral landscapes, supportive rural communities, and tremendous support for the farm-to-table movement, the Berkshires is an ideal location for a Farm to Fork Fondo event,” says event founder, Tyler Wren.

The event will include gourmet aid stations at several Berkshire County farms, where cyclists will sample chef-prepared food made from each farm’s ingredients. Course options for all abilities will range from 10 to 100 miles.

"Bringing awareness to our region’s breathtaking agricultural landscape, and the farms and food makers we celebrate, is our mission,” says Angela Cardinali, founder of Berkshire Farm & Table, a supporter of the event. “I can’t think of a better way to experience an exceptional Berkshire September, than cycling our roads, and taking in the classic beauty and rural charm we have to offer."

Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield will serve as the start-finish venue on September 24, and host a pre-ride ‘Meet the Farmers Dinner’ on September 23. "We are excited to bring a farm-to-table focused event to Hancock Shaker Village,” said Jessy McMahon, development associate at Hancock Shaker Village. “The Shakers practiced sustainable agriculture, and we continue to honor that legacy today with our 750-acre working farm and CSA. We hope that Farm to Fork Fondo will bring awareness to the farm-to-table movement in the Berkshires, and highlight Hancock Shaker Village as a farm-to-table destination."
